Theresa A. Berkey grew up in New Lenox, Illinois, and graduated from Lincoln-Way High School in 1999. From there, she went on to Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey to study Diplomacy & International Relations, receiving her Bachelor of Sciences degree and a certificate in Spanish in 2003. While there, she joined Delta Phi Epsilon sorority and she was on the Dean’s list.   

After that, she attended The John Marshall School of Law, in Chicago, graduating with her Juris Doctor in 2009.  In 2011, Ms. Berkey received her Master of Laws in Tax Law.

Theresa is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, and the Young Lawyers Section of the Will County Bar Association.

Theresa is also very active in Seton Hall University's Chicago Area Alumni Association as an admissions volunteer and participating in their yearly golf outing, raising money for Pirate Blue, the school’s athletic association.

Theresa volunteers her time for the United Way charity Witches Night Out, helping to raise funds for local women’s and children’s charities.
